He’s in good hands. People are looking after him, and he’s considering the possibility of asking for asylum in this country, since he faces arrest for political reasons (i.e. for “stirring up racial hatred”) if he returns to England. It’s possible that a legal fund will be set up to help him, but I don’t have any definite word on that yet.
There’s an article today about Lionheart, and an interview with him, in Savannah Now:
Paul Ray is homeless…- - - - - - - - -
He’s got a home country, Britain, but if he goes back there he’s facing arrest on suspicion of an offense dubbed “Stir up Racial Hatred by displaying written material” on his blog lionheartuk.blogspot.com. He could get seven years in prison just for stating his views.
They’ve got no First Amendment in Britain. So the 31-year-old is in the United States contemplating a bid for asylum after being run out of his home of Luton. He was here when he first found out about the charge.
For more than a year he’s been documenting what he alleges is drug dealing by Muslim immigrants in Luton. He’s dropped dimes on these dealers and they’ve in turn threatened his life.
I met him at last week’s blogging unconference. To me he straddles that line dividing legitimate criticism of a minority group and unreasonable vilification. He’s in that gray area where we find many in the United States who decry illegal immigrants.
At one point he said there is good and bad in everything. But later he says about the Koran: “It’s a hate book against non-believers.” He said the Muslims in Luton sell heroin as part of a jihad.
In fact he’s been linked to a neo-fascist political party in Britain.
So I’m hesitant to write about him. There is a ton of writing about this around the internet about this that you can search on your own.
But I think it’s important to listen to his story and — not to get too sentimental — remember that we’ve got a ton of freedoms here.
Indeed we do. But not, perhaps, for long. Lionheart is the canary in the coal mine for free speech in Western countries.
You can listen to the interview with Lionheart at the Savannah Now website.

There is no chance that President Bush will allow amnesty. None. Might irritate the Brothers- people of the book you know.
Welcome to America, Paul Ray.
If this country can endure Neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan, it will most certainly survive Lionheart. Moreso in that the USA desperately needs further education regarding Islam's threat. Something that the Neo-Nazis and Klansmen will most definitely NOT encourage.
Online, I have repeatedly expressed my own discomfort at telling others, "go back to where you came from". My own mother is from another country. She came here from Denmark as a warbride after WWII and, eventually, her entire family followed her to America's welcoming shores.
Unlike so many other more recent immigrants—legal or otherwise—she and her family all set about learning English and becoming fully integrated American citizens. I firmly believe that Paul Ray might set about a similar task. I have little to no faith that the vast majority of America's Muslim immigrants will do the same nor have I seen enough Hispanic arrivals doing anything remotely like it.
My personal aversion to saying "Go back to where you came from" is rapidly succumbing to the onslaught of lawless and non-integrating immigrants who abjectly refuse to become Americans. Should they insist upon feeling that way, I hope that America will slingshot them back to their respective countries of origin at supersonic speeds.
All somebody needs to do is find a Mexican and figure out where to get all the necessary fake paperwork, then boom! He's here 'til the problem makes it to the US.

LH is talking about an application for asylum, not amnesty. Amnesty is within discretion of the President. For asylum there are laws to be followed. the President doesn't have any say in them.
I write about those asylum laws and how they apply to LH's case at my site.
www.USorThemonline.com
The notion that a British subject would have to seek protection of U.S. asylum laws because he is in fear of persecution for his political writings on his blog is mind boggling. Can you imagine the emabarrasment of the British government by the mere act of LH even applying for asylum under those facts? Can you imagine if LH's asylum application is denied and is forcibly returned to the UK to face charges for doing something thousands of US bloggers do on a daily basis, to wit: crticize religions, religious leaders and their political supporters? That is not going to happen without some very important people standing up and taking notice.
The British governemnt needs to be made aware that people are watching them in this case. Although, as I argue in my recent post, it seems the law on asylum is very much in LH's favor, but behind the scenes politics could interfere. If he loses his asylum request, LH could be forced to return, but he would probably be entitled to an extradition hearing. What a show that would be?
This story needs to be told and shouted from the rooftops so the British government knows- we are watching.
Why would he come back for this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=510801&in_page_id=1770 ?
"BBC Radio 5 presenter threatened with a gun when testing safety of Britain's streets"
I'm glad he's here, I hope he can stay. Do all of you know that it's official American policy to give Central American gang members sanctuary here, because they face government persecution in their home countries?
U.S. Grants Asylum to Gang Members Because they are Gang Members
Lionheart, in case you read this, YOU MUST apply for asylum in the US. Besides preserving your freedom, this is an excellent occasion to deal a major blow to the EU "constitution", the anti free speech laws of Britain and the EU and the islamization of our home countries. Here is what I wrote in a post on January 4th, 2008:
Lionheart should apply for political asylum in the US. As he is being persecuted for his political work in Great Britain, he stands for exactly the kind of case the idea of political asylum was originally conceived for. According to the provisions of the EU Framework decision against Racism, he would not be able to ask for political asylum in any member state of the EU, as England’s police force could legally investigate and arrest him wherever he stays within the EU. Anything that is considered a crime in ONE of the EU provinces will then be considered as such in ALL of them. This will become particularly interesting, when and if Turkey becomes a member of the EU. Which is only a question of time.
An official application by Lionheart for political refugee status in the US should be interesting, to say the least. Even the drive-by media might take THAT story and run with it.
Absolutely, TC is right, Lionheart should apply for political asylum. Its as striking a political statement as can be made, short of self immolation on the steps of Westminister.
Thank you, TC. You put it all on the table and explained the stakes well. LH must seek political asylum in the US.
I worked in Luton for 2 years (well, Dunstable, which is the town next-door). I can confirm that what Lionheart says is true about the drug dealing and the Pakistani mafia.
In general, Luton is a sh** hole. A depressing, ugly place. It has always been a 'tough' town. It was the home of Vauxhall (General Motors) car making and associated industries, until they closed down the factories, and resembles present day Buffalo, albeit on a smaller scale and surrounded by some of the nicest countryside in England. I used to play football (or 'soccer' as u guys would have it) there every weekend and rarely got off the pitch without a black eye or large bruises. But it's an honest enough place. The opposition would buy me a pint after the match as recompense for being kicked around for 90 minutes.
Luton hosts two large 'non-native' populations - Irish and East-Asian - plus a small black, mainly Jamaican group.
You wouldn't want to advertise your Englishness loudly within either of the two large 'communities' - although to the paddies credit, they wouldn't hurt you for doing so but maybe just 'move you along' - if you understand what I mean. Fully integrated and I would recommend attending their St. Patrick's day celebrations if you like a jar or two (or three, or four - hic!).
The Jamaicans are basically cool, have their own pubs and clubs, maybe sell a bit of weed, but are fully integrated and also don't care for the East Asians one little bit. A feeling that is reciprocated.
The East-Asians, however, are another matter. There are 3 or 4 streets in Luton that a white man / woman could not walk down without being attacked. No-Go areas that are unpoliced. That is a fact, plain and simple. In other areas, even in, say, the main shopping mall, the resentment is plain for all to see. They hate you for being white and they let you know it. White women are leered and jeered at and a single white male will usually be threatened. They are turning (or have turned) the town into a divided zone similar to Gaza / Israel, minus the tanks and bombs. I'm only barely exaggerating here. The hostility is plain to see and the atmosphere is poisonous.
Regarding Lionheart's membership or otherwise of the BNP, I would say that this is a horrible organisation - basically socialist and ultra-nationalist in its philosophy. 'National Socialism' ring any bells? However, it is understandable why many working-class white people turn to it. It is because they are ignored by the other 2 main political parties. Shunned even. And the police are hidebound by Political Correctness. So who else do they have to turn to? Who else will stand up for them?
I haven't delved too deeply into Lionheart's story and I abhor some of the language he uses, but from my knowledge of Luton, I can believe every word he says. He is suffering because he stood up and spoke out. Whether you want him in the USA is another matter, but you should understand that he is not making it up.
Pakistanis are south west Asian, a minor correction.
Ah, yes, apologies to all East-Asians. Please substitute in my above post. Thanks Horse.

I just don't understand some people.
The article that GoV cites states that the author is hesitant to even discuss Lionheart.
Jesus Christ, people... are you serious about the Jihad or not?
Do you really believe that Islam poses a mortal danger to our way of life or not?
Are you ever going to do anyting more than wring your hands and type comments on blogs or not?
What the hell is there to hestitate about?
LGF and all the bafoons who faint at the mere SUGGESTION that someone is not a dyed in the wool sanctiminious anti-white activist have really set things back.. they're worse than Leftists IMHO.

Lionheart should immediately seek asylum here, and I'm betting there are plenty of immigration lawyers who would be willing to help.
If the nazis can march in skokie this oughta be a no brainer, but that was 68. Handled discreetly, AND with the right judges, this should go thru. That's why the right lawyer is key.
Of course many of them would be the same guys helping illegal aliens, I bet.
Whoever has the details on Lionheart, email Geraldo at Fox.
I am serious. He is BOTH a believer in immigration (both kinds) AND viciously anti jihadi
This is the place for Lionheart, not some nanny state where offense is in the mind of the beholders, and not linked to OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE.
There should be utter consonance amongst bloggers on this issue, and no outside connections affect the freedom to speak at all.
I mean, if Gus Hall can run for president.....

My brain meant "asylum", but my fingers typed "amnesty". Honestly. I may have been channeling Bush's political prisoners, Officers Ramos & Campeon, or perhaps it was just the IPA.
Patriotism should not be taught
The Government has called for history lessons to help children develop a sense of their British identity and a love of their country.
But academics at the Institute of Education in the University of London warned that pupils should not be encouraged to love Britain for its "morally ambiguous" history.
The report, by Michael Hand and Jo Pearce, said patriotism should be taught - but as "a controversial issue".
Dr Hand said: "Gordon Brown and (Tory leader) David Cameron have both called for a history curriculum that fosters attachment and loyalty to Britain.
"But the case for promoting patriotism in schools is weak. Patriotism is love of one's country, but are countries really appropriate objects of love?
"Loving things can be bad for us, for example when the things we love are morally corrupt.

Lionheart is not a member of the BNP.
These rumors need to end.
But thanks to Charles Johnson's campaign of censorship and hate he has single handedly libeled Paul and seriously damaged our cause.
If Lionheart goes to Jail or prosecuted then Charles Johnson will have been responsible. To me his actions have been traitorous and underhanded.
He posted that he agreed the British police have a good reason to arrest him. He said Lionheart "deserves" it. Charles Johnson is for the censorship of British bloggers, he works hand in hand with the Marxist establishment.
He is a traitor.
" He’s in that gray area where we find many in the United States who decry illegal immigrants."
Illegal immigrants are criminals! They are breaking the law. Savannah now supports criminal activity.
If you want to live in the USA then follow the rules do not break our laws.
vincep1974
you are correct, the LGF have ruined his cause. I read stuff now that states Paul Ray is a Neo Nazi. Why?
Because he was brave enough to link Islamic drug dealers with the jihad. He even exposed crooked police officers.
His thanks for the task is name calling from both left and right.
