This is how Democracies end.
This is how Democracies end.
This is how Democracies end.
Not with a bang. Not with a whimper.
With incoherent Newspeak mindless suicidal babble from Terry Davis of the Council of Europe.
Quoted in Al Jazeera on today’s SIOE demonstration [NB: the link no longer works; instead use this direct link to COE (thanks to PG)]:
From Terry Davis, the head of the Council of Europe, — a watchdog focusing mainly on human rights rather than the EU institution — called the protestors “bigots” and said they were a threat to European values.
“It is very important to remember that the freedom of assembly and expression can be restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others, including the freedom of thought, conscience and religion,” he said in a statement.
“This applies to everyone in Europe, including the millions of Europeans of Islamic faith, who were the main target of today’s shameful display of bigotry and intolerance.”

Or, let us consider the possibility that it is only with a bang that democrocy will revive. Several bangs. And much wimpering.
Fact is that the anti-Islamization demonstration in Brussels, however weak compared with the initial plan, was very useful in showing at a small scale the configuration of the camps in the future war: on one part - the politicians, the authorities, the governments, the political and intellectual elite of the establishment with their army of policemen, plus the mainstream media; on the other hand, the victims of the Islamization - the European people, divided by inner conflicts and permanently demonised by those from the other camp.
It's going to be tough, folks. But when was a fight against Islam easy? Remember how painful and lasting was La Reconquista - and the Spaniards of that time were not divided and they had their leaders by their side...
The protesters are called "racists", "islamophobes" and "bigots" in the media, the Mayor of Brussels and by our governments.
Yet...
European Media (especally the BBC) is ANTI-AMERICAN - that is racist.
The Euroean Union is ANTI-AMERICAN and ANTI-SEMITIC - that's racist.
Even MEMRI is now investigating "Muslim Hate" on the internet (for government, I guess), believeing it is the same as "Anti-Semitism" and "Homohobia".
Yet, people are openly ANTI-CHRISTIAN and ANTI-SEMITIC on our media, governments and in our companies.
Islamaphobia is a natural fear of something evil which is spreading, like cancer, and killing European and Western culture and values.
That Europe is now a slave to the Islamists is no secret. This just proves it.
And the Islamists cannot be defeated. They will die for the cause by the millions. Europeans will not. It's over for you Europeans. Your history and culture as you knew it are finished.
Islam gives you two choices - submission or death. Emigration probably is not a choice for most, America won't take you in unless you're a poor Mexican who enters illegally, and Australia can only take so many.
You decide between the two.
"It is very important to remember that the freedom of assembly and expression can be restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others"
And who'll decide what 'others' are allowed freedom at the expense of those who are not? It's getting more and more open these days. As resistence against this immoral suppression of our hard-fought freedom is mounting, the EC and licking-up-to politicians are speeding up outruling us by destroying what we have left ever faster.
See this link for some interesting background.
Terry Davis's diatribe only highlights that we are led by people with an agenda that has nothing to do with the EU Citizen's but everything to do with a common goal of a one world unelected government which has at it's core a reduction of the world population down to around 500 million.
Look at his C.V. it shows that he revolves in a high circle, these people know nothing about the real world, they don't live in it.

We are not racist, Islam is not a race, it's a belief system that has no logic, anyone that believes in Islam is a moron.
We should be helping muslim's to throw off the mantle of Islam, supporting all the ex-muslim entities so that muslim's that wish to leave can do so with being threatened with death or serious injury just because they no longer want to be associated with this cult of death. These ex-muslim's are our best allies in this fight for survival, they know islam, they lived it, when they tell us that islam is bad we should listen to them.
Lets face it, our ruling classes are all rich, they want nothing to do with anyone that's not rich and powerful, they look down their noses at the likes of us, riches and power go hand in hand, how many world leaders are poor? which leads us to this "money is power"
The next question is how do we as EU Citizens turn this around and have a change of paradigm that allows people who are not rich, but have common sense and leadership qualities to become our elected representatives that actually do reflect the will of the EU Citizens, the people that are in power now don't reflect what the majority of EU Citizen's think at all.
The Major of Brussels banning the SIOE demo, and the EU constitution being pushed through the back door prove that without doubt.
So what do we want and how are we going to get it? we must give our lords and masters a clear, consise and powerful message...
NO TO THE ISLAMISATION OF EUROPE!
NO TO FURTHER IMMIGRATION OF MUSLIMS INTO EUROPE!
NO TO MUSLIM GHETTO'S AND NO-GO AREAS IN EUROPE!
NO TO MORE MOSQUES UNLESS NEW CHURCHES ARE BUILT AND RENOVATED IN MUSLIM LANDS!
Are we going to standby and let Europe be taken over by a bunch of 7th century cretins who have not contributed nothing except bombs and intimidation since our governments made a secret deal with them, in the early 70's which agreed immigration for oil, without our consent, we must have a groundswell of public opinion against this takeover and we must make it heard now.
God help us all
Stefcho, no one can be racist against Americans any more than they can be racist against homosexuals. It's impossible by definition.
Any of you can tell me what is happening with fathfreedom website?
There are two days I cannot acess it
Goodbye, Europe. We've had our issues over the years, but on balance our relationship has been a good one.
No worries. We will be taking the same road in due course.
“It is very important to remember that the freedom of assembly and expression can be restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others, including the freedom of thought, conscience and religion.”
The hard core of soft totalitarianism.
It seems to me, that many commentators here are not aware, that the Council of Europe is in no way affiliated to the EU and shouldn’t be confused with the European Council, which is an assembly of the head of state or governament of the Unions member countries; or the Council of the European Union, which is one of the two legislative institutions of the European Union.
The Council of Europe is a separate International Institution, with 47 member states, including countries such as Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey etc. Wikipedia has a full list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_europe#Membership
Canada, Japan, Mexico, the U.S. and the Holy See have observer status with the Council of Europe and the parliaments of Canada, Israel and Mexico have observer status with its Parliamentary Assembly.
So again, this is not the official Position of any EU Body. For my recent comments on EU positions, check Barons other post "More SIOE Brussels Updates"
I have the feeling this is not over yet. Heads will role; people will have to take their hats.
Ab Triarios Redisse
"What else is there to do when a tyrannical government fails to allow the redress of grievances?", Madison might have asked Jefferson circa the 1770s.
The course the oppressed colonist took was made famous by the 'shot heard round the world'.
Are the patriots of European and western culture at that point yet> Perhaps not. But it's coming. We may some day look back on the 9/11/07 as the day common Europeans began the effort to take their continent and culture back from their unelected overlords.
Or not.
sigh...

Really? - If I were you, Zero, I would be a bit hesitant to throw stones at us. If it wasn't for the Baron and his likes we Euro-weenies would think that your country is way ahead of us in dhimmitude. And don't give me that Iraq argument while you're sending fighter planes and whatnot to Saudi Barbaria, Egypt and the Emirates. Your president said it well: Islam is a religion of peace. Which means: So let's fight some bandits and their tactics - terror - and support all the other fine, peaceful Muslims. Just like when we in WW2 fought the Liechtenstein branch of SS and Gestapo and supported all the other fine Nazis.
So, Zero, where is the American counter-jihad demonstration? - Where are the American cartoons making fun of one Mr. Mohammed? - Where are the American politicians, authors, artists speaking so loud about Islam that they need armed bodyguards?
And just a few seconds in my blogroll gives you this:
SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. – On the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, students at one high school were not allowed to wear clothes with an American flag.
Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States.
The new rule stems from a controversy over students wearing shirts bearing flags of other countries.
Gayle Langston said her daughter, Jessica, was told to remove her Stars and Stripes t-shirt.
“Today she wanted to wear her shirt, and I had to tell her no,” said Langston. “She didn't like it at all because I knew it would get her in trouble. Of all days, 9/11, she could not wear her American Flag shirt.”
The superintendent of schools in Sampson County calls the situation unfortunate, but says educators didn’t want to be forced to pick and choose which flags should be permissible.
In America !
Guys, please let us not fall into the America vs Europe trap. Remember who the real enemy is! We BOTH have much to be worried about.
spackle
I agree.
But its the Americans who constanly start it.
So dont blame Kepiblanc.
People like Kepiblanc and myself are totaly pro-American. We are just not ready to be considered as some kind of underdog. And that goes for ourselves as well as our nation and continent.
Phanarath: Many of us Americans see what is happening here to our nation, and we are not happy about it. The 'soul' of our nation is only a shell of what is once was. For us to throw stones at Europeans is silly since we have no moral high ground to throw from.
America's strength in past years has been the shared values of the people that came from the reformation in northern European democracies. That is the reality as a brief study of unrevised history will show.
Today, a majority of our people cannot tell right from wrong. As I heard it said so well in university: there are no good values, there are no bad values. There are only different values. If I dared to disagree, my grade in class would suffer, so I kept my mouth closed like everyone else.
Now, the ordinary college educated American can't tell if Islam is evil or not. It takes a standard of right and wrong to be able to identify evil when it shows itself. And that standard must be rooted in something real and true, not some judge's, or journalist's opinion. Consequently, we are in trouble.
I was labelled a 'pompous git' for saying this here before, but it is still true: Christianity, and I mean real Christianity, is what distinguished America in the past as 'a head and not a tail'. The same was true for Europe in places where Christianity was permitted to be freely practiced by ordinary people.
We as nations have unknowingly thrown away what was our treasure, by abandoning the worship and reverence of Christ amongst the people. Returning to that worship and reverence of Christ is our hope. To do less, I humbly submit, is to fail.
kepiblanc-
You'll be glad to know that the dress code banning "all" flags in the North Caorlina school has been overturned.
But, ironically, this only allows students who want to wear anti-American flags to have their propaganda say.
The school should have said that "wearing the nation's flag is fine". But that all other countries' flags belong in their countries of origin, or in the geography class on the map, not on students' clothing.
Otherwise it gets the multicultural camel's nose under the national tent's edge.
By diffusing the patriotic sense with this "tolerant" appeasement toward "all" flags, the school administrators have gone from one end of over-reacting to the other.
Both of which undermine the nation.
If you do not defend you country, you cede it to the hungry invaders.
Whether La Raza or imperialistic Islam.
paul-
In classes (Psychology, Philosophy, Biology, English Lit, etc.) in college I had no problem defending the right of every culture to defend itself, but also asserting that the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights were obviously superior to the Aztecs or Santoria superstitions or Druids or Communists or fascists or Nazis or Islam (this was in the 1980's before people were noticing Mohammadism much), or any modern variation on these intolerant or irrationalistic dogmas.
I got a few B's where I might have had A's, but I never lost an argument on the topic with anyone who was intellectually honest. (How can you seriously argue in favor of fewer rights or less scientific sanitation or child slavery?) And I'm sure a couple of people on the sidelines came to a different understanding of the "multicultural" fallacy ("divide and conquer"-lite, as I called it) than they would have it no one had been a loudmouth for liberty.
Plus, I enjoyed the philosophical fencing.
And upholding the rights of women, the value of free inquiry, and standing up strongly for "the worst form of government... except for all the rest" as Churchill called it.
Prophet:
Good word. I'm sure you would have been an enjoyable classmate. To be honest, I presented the abbreviated version... Then, as now, I have had to restrain my mouth, so to speak.
I'm glad you spoke your mind when you had the opportunity. We need more of that from the light side. However, in these days there is a cost. Who can, rather, who is willing to risk paying the price?
Concerning speaking one's mind, we may yet come to the place where the cost difference between speaking one's mind is little different from remaining silent.
What cost freedom?
Remember the 'shot heard 'round the world'? The place was Concord Bridge, Massachusetts. Year 1775. At that point men were willing to die for their freedom and conscience.
Where are we today?
Well, the world is not the same as in 1775. Our neighbors do not have the same values as our neighbors in previous years........ They do not seem to have the same 'content' of soul..... Not all... but some.
